About the role
As a Senior Backend Engineer II, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and performant. You’ll work on critical services that power our platform, from ticket purchasing to real-time inventory updates, directly impacting millions of users.
You Will
* Build, maintain and scale critical backend services.
* Design, build, and optimize backend systems for high performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Frontend, QA) to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
* Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
* Debug and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring timely resolution.
* Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions.
* Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices within the team.
We are looking for someone who
* Has 7+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
* Has strong proficiency in backend programming languages, with a preference for Go or Python.
* Has expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
* Has extensive experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis).
* Has experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Is familiar with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures.
* Has a solid understanding of software architecture, data structures, and algorithms.
* Has experience with microservices architecture.
* Has excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
* Holds a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Bonus Points
* Experience with real-time data processing and analytics.
* Familiarity with GraphQL.
* Experience working in an e-commerce or marketplace domain.
* Open-source contributions or personal projects.
