About the Role
As a Senior Counsel on the Ads Product & Commercial Partnerships legal team, you will be a pragmatic legal advisor and business partner to our growing Ads and Monetization organization. You’ll be a trusted partner to teams developing our ads platform and new ads products, including ML/AI-powered products. You’ll also advise on our commercial partnerships related to ads, measurement, and data. You’ll tackle novel legal challenges across a range of subject matters, including privacy, consumer protection, advertising law, intellectual property, and contract law.
What you’ll do
- Provide holistic legal advice and support to internal business clients on the full product development lifecycle for our ads products, from ideation to launch and beyond. This will involve working closely with product, engineering, privacy, and policy teams across the organization.
- Support the day-to-day legal needs of our Commercial Partnerships team for ads, measurement, and data, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements (e.g., service agreements, data licenses, vendor agreements).
- Advise on a broad range of legal issues related to our ads products and commercial partnerships, including privacy, data protection, consumer protection, advertising law, IP, and competition law.
- Help design and implement legal compliance programs, policies, and training materials related to our ads products and commercial partnerships.
- Work closely with our legal team members globally, including privacy, regulatory, litigation, and international legal counsel.
- Provide legal guidance on new and emerging issues, including ML/AI-powered products and other cutting-edge technologies.
What you’ll bring
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with at least 3 years focused on advertising, product, and/or commercial law at a technology company, or advising technology clients at a law firm.
- Experience advising on legal issues related to online advertising, including privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and advertising laws.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
Bonus Points
- Experience with ML/AI-powered products or other emerging technologies.
- Experience working with sales and/or business development teams.
- Experience advising on privacy and data protection issues, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and other global privacy laws.
