Senior Counsel – Managed Care

This position is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel related to contracting, operations and compliance in the managed care area. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, with a focus on managed care contracting.

About the Job

  • Drafting and negotiating managed care contracts, including payor, physician, and ancillary provider agreements.
  • Providing legal advice and counsel on a broad range of managed care issues, including compliance with state and federal laws and regulations (e.g., ERISA, Medicare/Medicaid, Affordable Care Act).
  • Supporting business development and strategic initiatives related to managed care.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, operations, finance) to achieve business objectives.
  • Managing external counsel and legal vendors as needed.
  • Participating in internal committees and workgroups.
  • Developing and delivering training on legal topics related to managed care.
  • Staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments impacting the managed care industry.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state.
  • 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in the healthcare industry, with a focus on managed care contracting.
  • Strong understanding of managed care laws and regulations.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and ethical conduct.
