Senior Director of Sales, K-12

The Senior Director of Sales, K-12 (Remote) is a dynamic sales leader who works with the Senior Vice President to set strategic sales targets, coaches sales managers and reps to achieve those goals, manages budgets, fosters a high-performance culture, and contributes to Blackbaud’s overall sales strategy. They drive revenue, ensure customer satisfaction, and play a critical role in the company’s success.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed K-12 revenue targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales managers and representatives, fostering a high-performance, results-driven culture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success, to ensure a seamless customer experience and alignment of sales strategies.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, forecast sales accurately, and report on sales performance to senior leadership.
  • Identify new market opportunities and expand the customer base within the K-12 sector.
  • Negotiate and close key deals, demonstrating strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as relevant industry regulations.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote our solutions and build relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the K-12 education technology sector.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of the K-12 education market, including key trends, challenges, and competitive landscape.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex sales strategies.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on K-12 institutions.
