As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Risk team, you’ll lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building the technical systems that manage financial risk and keep customers safe. Your work will directly impact Mercury’s ability to grow responsibly.
About the Role
You will be responsible for defining and executing the technical strategy for Mercury’s risk systems. This includes managing a team of engineers, collaborating with product and design, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our financial risk infrastructure.
As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Risk team, you’ll:
- Lead a team of talented engineers responsible for building the technical systems that manage financial risk and keep customers safe.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering managers to define and execute the team’s roadmap.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement within your team.
- Contribute to the overall technical strategy and architecture of Mercury’s risk systems.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers at all levels, helping them achieve their career goals.
You Have:
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in an engineering management role.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, API design, and data-intensive applications.
- Experience building and scaling risk, fraud, or compliance systems in a financial services context.
- A track record of successfully leading and shipping complex engineering projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working remotely across different time zones.
