About the Role
An all-in-one financial platform for startups is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Risk team to build AI and automation solutions for fraud, credit, and AML.
The Team
The Risk team is critical for protecting customers and the company from financial crime and losses. You’ll be working on a small, focused team responsible for building and maintaining the core risk infrastructure that underpins all of the company’s products. This involves leveraging data, machine learning, and automation to create a robust and adaptive risk management system.
What you’ll do
- Build and iterate on machine learning systems for fraud detection, credit underwriting, and anti-money laundering (AML).
- Integrate these systems into our backend services to make real-time decisions.
- Automate manual processes within the Risk team, improving efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with our Risk Operations team to understand their challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to the overall architecture and design of our risk platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend systems.
- Strong experience with Python and related machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience building and deploying machine learning models in production.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and SQL.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bonus points: Experience with fraud detection, credit risk, or AML.
- Bonus points: Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Bonus points: Experience with distributed systems.
