As a Senior Staff Engineer on the Ads team, you will be responsible for the technical direction and leadership of mission-critical initiatives within Reddit’s Ads organization.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor to a team of engineers within Reddit’s Ads organization.
- Design and build highly scalable and reliable systems to support Reddit’s growing Ads business.
- Drive technical vision and strategy for key areas of the Ads platform, aligning with overall company objectives.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to define and execute on product roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional projects, from conception to launch, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and infrastructure.
What we’re looking for:
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong background in designing, building, and operating production systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Scala, C++).
- Deep understanding of ad tech concepts, including ad serving, targeting, bidding, and optimization.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, make architectural decisions, and drive consensus across multiple teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus points:
- Experience with real-time data processing (e.g., Flink, Spark Streaming).
- Familiarity with machine learning systems and their application in advertising.
- Experience with Reddit Ads products and systems a plus.

Base Pay Range: C$313,200 – C$440,100 CAD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. We are committed to an equitable and transparent compensation program for all employees. This salary range may be subject to change depending on your location.
