Senior VFX Artist

What you’ll do

  • Create high-quality, real-time visual effects (VFX) from concept to final implementation, adhering to the project’s artistic vision and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers to integrate VFX seamlessly into gameplay, cinematics, and environments.
  • Develop and implement particle systems, fluid simulations, destruction effects, and other dynamic visual elements using game engines and authoring tools.
  • Optimize VFX for performance across various platforms while maintaining visual fidelity.
  • Iterate on VFX based on feedback, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and polish.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve our VFX pipeline and workflows.
  • Mentor junior artists and contribute to a collaborative and creative team environment.

We’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience as a VFX Artist in the video game industry, with at least one shipped AAA title.
  • Expert proficiency with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their VFX tools (Niagara, Shuriken, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of real-time rendering, optimization techniques, and various VFX creation methodologies (e.g., particles, shaders, simulations, post-effects).
  • Demonstrated ability to create a wide range of stylistic and realistic effects that enhance gameplay and visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency with 3D content creation tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Blender) and texture creation software (e.g., Photoshop, Substance Painter).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional VFX work.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#) or visual scripting (e.g., Blueprints) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with physics-based simulations (e.g., rigid body dynamics, fluid dynamics) is a plus.
