We are hiring a Site Engineer to join our infrastructure team and help build and maintain our globally distributed edge network. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining our core infrastructure services that power the Vercel platform. You will work closely with other engineers to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our platform.
What You’ll Do:
- Build, scale, and maintain our core infrastructure services that power the Vercel platform.
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our platform.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support our production environment.
- Identify and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to proactively identify and address issues.
- Automate operational tasks and improve the efficiency of our infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement new features and services.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of best practices for site reliability and operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or a similar role.
- Strong background in distributed systems, cloud computing, and networking.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, Python, Node.js).
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- A passion for building reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems.
