As a Sr. Director of Design, Member Experiences, you will be a strategic design leader responsible for shaping and evolving the end-to-end user experience for millions of users globally. You will oversee the design vision, strategy, and execution for core member-facing products and features, ensuring they are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a strong leader who can inspire and empower a talented design team while collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners.
What you’ll do:
- Set and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the Member Experiences design team, aligning with overall product and company goals.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of designers, including managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and data science leaders to define product strategy, roadmaps, and requirements.
- Drive user-centered design processes, from research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and implementation.
- Represent the design perspective at a senior leadership level, effectively communicating design decisions and rationale to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the overall design leadership team, helping to shape design best practices, tools, and processes across the organization.
What you’ll bring:
- 15+ years of experience in product design, with a strong focus on consumer products, platforms, or social media.
- 8+ years of experience managing and leading design teams, including managing managers, with a proven track record of developing and retaining top talent.
- Proven track record of shipping successful products and features that have had a significant impact on user experience and business outcomes.
- Deep expertise in user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving environment.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, jumping into design work when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
