Sr. Fullstack Engineer – Identity Platform

The Identity team enables users to access and manage their account securely, and works across the entire product. As a fullstack engineer on the Identity team, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining critical services and UIs that are central to the customer experience.
The Identity team owns all aspects of the user’s journey, from signup and login, to security, account management, and collaboration. We are a full-stack team that builds and maintains our own services and UIs, and we work closely with product and design partners to deliver user-facing features. We are looking for an experienced full-stack engineer who is passionate about building secure, reliable, and scalable systems, and who thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
What you’ll do:
- Define, build, and maintain the services and UIs for critical identity capabilities (e.g. authentication, authorization, user profiles, security policies, and account settings).
- Partner closely with product managers and designers to understand user needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and security.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support our production systems.
- Contribute to the team’s technical roadmap and strategy.
- Mentor and share knowledge with other engineers on the team.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining fullstack applications, with a strong emphasis on backend systems.
- Experience with modern web frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular) and associated tooling.
- Proficiency in a backend language (e.g. Python, Go, Ruby, PHP) and experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with identity-related concepts and technologies (e.g. OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, multi-factor authentication).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- A passion for building high-quality software and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Bonus points:
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- Open source contributions or personal projects.
- Experience with event-driven architectures.
- Experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
