Staff Analytics Engineer

Twilio is looking for a Staff Analytics Engineer to help scale our analytics engineering services to meet the growing data needs across the company. You will lead the development and design of core data models, tools, and processes, driving adoption of best practices across the Analytics Engineering team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact data solutions. What you’ll do:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust data models, pipelines, and tools using dbt, SQL, and Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into effective analytics solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance, ensuring data quality, reliability, and security.
  • Mentor and guide junior analytics engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance our data platform capabilities and improve data accessibility and usability.
  • Champion data literacy and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role, with a strong focus on data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL, dbt, and experience with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Experience with Python and related data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (e.g., version control, testing, CI/CD).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
