As a Staff Application Engineer in Workplace Technology, you’ll join a global team dedicated to providing a seamless and productive computing experience for all employees. In this role, you’ll focus on the macOS ecosystem, playing a critical part in designing, implementing, and maintaining applications, services, and automation that empower our employees worldwide. You’ll be instrumental in developing robust tools, optimizing workflows, and ensuring the stability and security of our macOS environment.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain applications, services, and automation specifically for the macOS ecosystem, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Security, IT Operations, Product Engineering) to understand requirements, propose solutions, and integrate workplace technology with broader company initiatives.
- Administer and optimize macOS management tools (e.g., Jamf Pro, Munki, Kandji), including package creation, policy enforcement, and endpoint security configurations.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex macOS-related issues, providing advanced technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
- Drive continuous improvement through identifying areas for automation, process optimization, and technology adoption, ensuring our workplace technology stack remains cutting-edge.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and applications.
- Actively participate in the evaluation and selection of new technologies and vendors.
What you bring
- 8+ years of experience in macOS application engineering, system administration, or a similar role focused on endpoint management in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with macOS management tools suchs as Jamf Pro, Munki, or Kandji.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Swift) for automation and tool development.
- Solid understanding of macOS operating system internals, security best practices, and networking concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Experience with identity and access management (e.g., Okta, Azure AD) is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
