Staff Data Scientist – Ads

As a Staff Data Scientist on the Ads Data Science team, you will be responsible for defining and improving key ad metrics, building advanced experimentation capabilities, and developing algorithms that optimize ad ranking and delivery. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that drive significant impact on the ads business.

What You’ll Do

  • Define, analyze, and communicate key metrics and insights for the ads products.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests to evaluate the impact of new features and algorithms, providing actionable recommendations to product teams.
  • Develop and productionize machine learning models and algorithms to optimize ad ranking, targeting, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement data solutions and ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the overall growth and development of the team.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on ads products, e-commerce, or marketplace dynamics.
  • Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation (A/B testing).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hive) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence product and engineering decisions.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics).
