About the role

As a Staff Data Scientist on our Growth or Care team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mental healthcare technology. You will leverage advanced analytics, experimentation, and machine learning to drive product innovation, optimize user journeys, and enhance patient outcomes. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our product and patient experience, working closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and mission-driven environment.

What you’ll do

  • Drive product strategy by identifying and solving critical business questions through deep dives, experimentation, and statistical modeling (e.g., causal inference).
  • Lead data-driven projects from conception to launch, including problem definition, data collection, analysis, model development, and impact assessment.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests to evaluate the impact of new features and product changes, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate insights into product improvements and new features.
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and dashboards to monitor key metrics and track the performance of growth and care initiatives.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to building a strong data culture within the organization.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing decision-making at all levels.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models to optimize user acquisition, engagement, retention, and care pathways.

What you’ll have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a data science role, with a strong focus on growth, product, or care.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design (A/B testing, causal inference).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for using data to solve complex business problems and drive product innovation.

  • Experience in mental healthcare or digital health is a plus.
