As a Staff Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy and optimizing our mental healthcare marketplace. You will be responsible for leading complex data initiatives, conducting in-depth analyses, building predictive models, and providing actionable insights to drive user acquisition, engagement, retention, and satisfaction. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying key growth levers, improving user journeys, and ultimately contributing to our mission of expanding access to quality mental healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize user acquisition, engagement, retention, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Lead the design and analysis of A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the impact of new features, products, and interventions.
- Build and maintain predictive models to forecast user behavior, identify churn risks, and personalize user experiences.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to define key metrics, establish KPIs, and monitor performance.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of complex datasets to uncover actionable insights, identify trends, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through compelling visualizations and presentations.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to fostering a culture of data literacy and analytical excellence within the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in data science to continuously enhance our capabilities.
What you’ll need
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in data science or a related analytical role, with a strong focus on growth, product, or customer analytics.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Extensive experience with experimental design, A/B testing, and causal inference techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying predictive models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, and machine learning algorithms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, working independently and collaboratively across multiple projects.
- Prior experience in the healthcare technology or marketplace industry is a plus.
