We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our growing Grafana Databases team focused on Managed Services. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical area of our product offerings, helping us build robust, scalable, and reliable services that enable customers to easily manage their Grafana installations.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our Grafana Databases Managed Services. You will work on challenging problems related to distributed systems, data management, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring our services are highly available, performant, and secure.
Your impact
- Design, develop, and maintain highly available and scalable managed services for Grafana databases.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and SREs to define, prioritize, and deliver new features and improvements.
- Lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the overall architectural vision of the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of our services.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, tools, and best practices.
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on distributed systems, cloud services, or databases.
- Strong proficiency in Go (or a similar modern programming language) and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse, etc.) and managed database services.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) is a plus.
