The Supervisor, Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Medical Billing, Collections, and Payment Posting Teams within the Revenue Cycle Management department. This role will ensure accurate and timely claim submission, efficient payment processing, effective collection strategies, and adherence to all regulatory guidelines. The Supervisor will lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue cycle specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment focused on continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Medical Billing, Collections, and Payment Posting Teams.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims to various payers (commercial, government, and patient).
- Monitor and analyze billing, collections, and payment posting activities to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve efficiency.
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to maximize revenue recovery while maintaining positive patient relationships.
- Oversee payment application processes, ensuring accurate and timely posting of payments and adjustments.
- Stay current with industry regulations, coding updates, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, OIG) and ensure departmental adherence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of revenue cycle specialists, including performance evaluations, goal setting, training, and coaching.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Patient Services, Sales, Finance) to resolve complex billing issues and improve overall revenue cycle performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports on departmental performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial outcomes to management.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, system implementations, and special projects as needed.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), collections, and payment posting processes.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, OIG).
- Proficiency in revenue cycle management software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certification in Revenue Cycle Management (e.g., CRCR, CHFP, CPC) preferred but not required.
