About the Job
This role will be responsible for technical accounting operations, revenue recognition, and financial reporting including related internal controls and process improvements related to ASC 606 revenue recognition for all products and services. You will contribute to the ongoing improvement of our month-end close process, lead and mentor junior team members, and ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to revenue accounting.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with various teams including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Legal to understand new product offerings, revenue streams, and contract terms, assessing their accounting implications.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to revenue accounting.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos for significant revenue contracts and transactions.
- Support the external audit process for revenue related areas, providing timely and accurate information to auditors.
- Develop and maintain internal controls over revenue recognition to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies in the revenue accounting function, leveraging technology and automation.
- Provide guidance and support to the sales and business teams on revenue recognition matters during contract negotiations.
- Manage and reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and other revenue-related accounts.
What you’ll bring:
- 7+ years of progressive experience in technical revenue accounting, preferably within a SaaS company.
- CPA license required.
- Expert-level knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance.
- Proven ability to research and apply complex accounting guidance to real-world transactions.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday).
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
