Brave is seeking an experienced VP of Sales to build and lead our API sales team. This role is critical to expanding Brave’s reach and impact within the growing ecosystem of API-first products, focusing on driving adoption and revenue for Brave’s privacy-preserving analytics, ads, and AI solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
– Develop and execute comprehensive API sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals.
– Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing global API sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
– Identify, target, and acquire new enterprise customers, partners, and strategic alliances for Brave’s API products, with a focus on Privacy Preserving Analytics, Ads, and AI solutions.
– Drive the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and closing, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
– Collaborate closely with product, engineering, marketing, and legal teams to ensure product-market fit, develop compelling value propositions, and align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
– Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and inform product development.
– Represent Brave at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, effectively communicating our vision, technology, and value proposition.
– Implement and optimize sales processes, tools, and metrics to enhance efficiency, productivity, and forecasting accuracy.
– Manage and report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance against targets to senior leadership.
What you’ll bring:
– 10+ years of progressive experience in API sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing global sales teams.
– Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving significant revenue growth in a B2B SaaS or enterprise software environment, specifically with API-first products.
– Deep understanding of the API ecosystem, privacy-preserving technologies, data analytics, and AI/ML applications.
– Experience selling into various industries, including advertising, publishing, finance, and technology.
– Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing sales organization.
– Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
– Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and adapt to evolving market conditions.
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
